Latasha’s fourth and hopefully last surgery in this journey was successful, leaving her with no more internal bleeding, and her lung is now fully functional. She was left with a few more battle scars but a small price to pay for being able to breathe and live another day.
Tasha had a long night full of a flurry of things to get her off the ventilator again and all the things that go with postoperative care. They are still deciding on dialysis, but as you can see in the picture, they have it ready to go if needed.
We now play the waiting game again, seeing how her body responds to everything. One would think we’d be experts at this game by now, but I can assure you I am not.
I had to return to Dayton today for some essentials we need for Tasha’s recovery and to get the dogs out of boarding for a bit so they can rest and play at home with their cat-dog brother, Binx, and their awesome house sitter, Braelynn.
A huge shout out to Hounds Town for taking such great care of them for us during this journey.
Tasha’s family has a watchful eye over her while I am gone. Stay tuned, as we are likely to be stuck in the ICU for another week and then on the step-down floor again for a week before the actual recovery phase starts.
