Today has been slow, as weekends in the hospital usually are. Latasha didn’t get much sleep last night because of an unruly neighbor. As I’ve said before, the ICU is a crazy place, and the healthier and more alert you are, the worse it is to endure.
So today, Tasha has had lots of idle time, some rest, and time spent watching 80s movies.
Tasha will hopefully start putting her thoughts down on paper soon. Unfortunately, though, she has developed hand tremors from the medication, which have made it hard for her to text and write. We’re hoping this is just temporary, as it is pretty frustrating.
We continue to battle the food service department because they keep messing up Tasha’s food orders by not delivering anything or sending the wrong meal. That may seem like a minor annoyance, but when you have zero control over anything and start to feel like a prisoner, a meal you ordered feels like a great accomplishment and a positive experience for mental and emotional health.
With this boring update, it is at least nice not to have to report any notable medical issues or some other high-adventure news. That’s a good thing, I suppose, but I would welcome to report something of positive significance other than the purgatory of waiting around.
To that end, I will forego tomorrow’s update, and hopefully, Monday will bring some news of going to a private room.
