Latasha had a good, uneventful night, leading to a lot of rest and weaning off sedatives.
She is fully awake this morning and firing on all brain cylinders. Latasha and I could communicate and converse through blinking, head nods and shakes, hand squeezing, and an excellent app I downloaded for my iPad that she can use to spell words to talk.
The doctor’s goal is to get the ventilator tube out of her as soon as possible today.
Overall, seeing her beautiful eyes open and squeezing my hand was a huge victory. Knowing she was still sharp and witty, the family took a massive sigh of relief. I think today will be a day of good victories.
As always, thank you for following Tasha’s journey and the incredible love and support everyone has given her.
