Resiliency

While Latasha was in a medically induced coma in the first days after her double lung and heart transplant she had at the Cleveland Clinic on July 1, 2024, I was struggling to cope. It was like a freight train of emotions hit me at once. To deal with it all, I do what I always do: reflect, analyze, learn, and write.

I believe in leading from the front and hope that my struggles shared openly equal lessons for others who can’t see a path in their dark spot. So, I wrote this commentary on resilience for the Wright-Patterson AFB newspaper, the Skywrighter.

I hope that is gives someone hope and power in dealing with something adverse in their life. More importantly, it’s about tribe and letting people in.
