Yesterday, Tasha had her six-month HDL post-transplant check-up and bronchoscopy (lung biopsy) at Cleveland Clinic, a crucial step in monitoring her progress and ensuring her body is adapting well to her new heart and lungs.

We’re thrilled to share that the preliminary results show no signs of rejection! The graft is strong, the organs are healthy, and Tasha’s bloodwork and overall systems are stable. While she hasn’t gained much weight, she hasn’t lost any either—a small but meaningful victory.
The journey hasn’t been without its challenges. The three-hour trips and the hospital routine can be exhausting, and we’ve certainly had moments of frustration along the way. However, we’re focusing on the positives and taking things one step at a time. Tasha’s stomach issues remain a work in progress, but we’re learning more each day about what works for her body and what doesn’t. This process of trial and error is bringing us closer to finding her “new normal.”
While we are encouraged by this update, we’re staying vigilant. I’m taking extra precautions at home, especially as I’ve caught a cold and want to avoid passing anything on to Tasha. We know this journey requires continued care and caution, and we’re ready for whatever comes next.
For now, I’ll be stepping back from updates for a bit to recharge and prepare for the road ahead. Thank you all for your continued support, prayers, and positive thoughts—they mean more than words can express.
Here’s to more progress and brighter days ahead! We hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
